Online Booking – A User’s Guide

The online booking facility can be accessed through this site and is very simple to use.

In this brief article, we will run through a few tips to make the best use of the system.

First click on the online booking button on the right hand side of any page on the site (except the homepage where there is a link just below the main panel of pictures). Then on the booking page, click the “Book Online” button again and simply select the category of appointment you require – note certain types of appointment such as new contact lens fittings cannot be made online as we tailor the length of appointment to your individual needs.

You are then presented with a list of locations, so select the village you require which will bring up the calendar showing availability (for complete details including postcodes and location maps for each of our locations, click here). The dates shown in green on the calendar are those with availability – below the calendar are the days of the week with available appointment times. When you click on the time you require, you will be asked to enter your email address. If we already have a record of this, the system will recognise you and simply ask you to confirm your appointment. If we have no previous record, simply complete name and phone number, then click on “more” to add your address.

You will receive an email confirmation of the appointment together with a reminder email the day before the appointment. There is a link in the confirmation email that allows you to manage the appointment directly.

One small limitation currently is that if you wish to make more than one appointment with the same email address, the system will only recognise the first user. By all means make a second appointment in the same name and simply use the “notes” box to tell us who the other appointment is for and we will do the rest.

Feedback received so far tells us this system is very easy to use and gives clients the freedom to make and manage their appointments when and where it suits them and, being fully compatible with mobile phones and tablet devices such as the iPad, seems to fit in with the modern lifestyle.
